The Role of Technology Licensing
in Accelerating Growth
As we continue to encourage GIL teams across the globe to look for new and alternative methods to accelerate growth in 2011, this month we’ve highlighted green initiatives and Mergers & Acquisitions as well as Technology Licensing as a potential path to profit. Each of these out-of-the-box approaches offers a unique opportunity for companies to realize profit from areas outside of the usual corporate growth paradigm.
While Intellectual Property is at the heart of many successful growth strategies, how does a company balance the cost of doing research to develop the necessary knowledge and associated technology that comes with the cost of doing business? To eliminate the barrier to entry that research and associated risk management poses, companies dedicated to accelerating growth might want to consider technology licensing. Partnering with forward-thinking companies that have already developed and patented solutions, and who are willing to share the benefits through licensing, could well hold the key to your company’s growth in the coming year.
We hope that this and the other innovative strategies outlined below move you to achieve greater growth and success in 2011.
Sincerely,

David Frigstad Chairman
